Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
It was great because my mom and dad gave us a good life even though life is tough and full of dilemma. And my mom thought me to love the mother nature that’s why until now I am one of those eco warrior who wants to save the Mother Earth.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I found that life is not always easy, but if you really believe that God is in charge of everything and present to him all of your trials and tribulations, stop questioning.

Most memorable moment:
My most exciting moment was when I was crowned Miss Eco Tourism Gensan in 2017. It provided me with the ability to discover and appreciate the true beauty of my city, as well as to inspire and help others.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2021 because it will give me the opportunity to be recognized as a protector of our environment, which is something I am proud of. I will fulfil my duties as an eco-angel by educating people about our environmental health and how we can care for it through this pageant. Through raising consciousness and initiating change within ourselves, we will help to minimize the harm being done to our environment.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My advocacy is food security. According United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization, over 59 million Filipinos are suffering from moderate to severe lack of consistent access to food. This is due to lack of money and other resources that forced every Filipinos’ to compromise their quantity/quality of the food they consume. With the threat of this current problem, the COVID-19 pandemic, it may severely push the number to 'much higher levels since relative prices of goods continues to get higher and higher, lowering the purchasing power of every citizen, that contributes to the to severe poverty problems in our country.

This is an enough reason to me to stand for this battle. My advocacy is to help my fellow Filipinos combat this problem and to initiate ways that somehow be a contributing factor for survival. Food security must be given an utmost importance as this is vital for us to survive. As food shortage continues to grow, securing food in our tables will never be an easy task, unless all of us will be helping hand and hand to eradicate the problem. That is why I believe that every household must be involved for this matter.

With the help of OPLAN backyard farming/planting, it will somehow lessen the food shortage that we’re experiencing today. Instead of waiting for the availability of those scarce resources, why not we find ways to provide food in our table? Planting our own vegetables and raising animals at our own backyard or space, we can easily have an access to these foods without spending money. Most importantly, eating nutritious foods like leafy greens and the like will help improve our health and boost our immune system to fight for the virus. This project will a big help to teach every household to be disciplined enough and work hard to make food in their tables.

It is also better to ask some help to the government. If the local government will be part of this advocacy, they can provide monetary aid to produce seedlings needed for our backyard farming/planting and help raise an awareness as to ways for proper planting. In that way, the chance of pursuing the project will be high. It’s about time to make a change. To make this happen we need YOU, all of YOU to be part of this. If everyone of us inspire one another, it will be easy for us to be the solution for our count.
