Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
As a child, everything was new. I’ve spent my childhood years waking up in a bright mood, roaming around with my bicycle and I am always playing with my friends and cousins that makes it memorable and fun. I became the “ate” among them and it felt like a responsibility in a young age since I need to protect and watch over them as we play. I felt like I was discovering everything myself, even if everyone else considered it as a common knowledge.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a child is that sharing is caring. With the presence of sharing, lifelong friendships can be formed. And we commonly understood that as a young citizen, we have an innocent mind that makes us embrace the different personalities among our companions that we’ve shared time with.
Most memorable moment:
One of the most memorable moments occurred when I competed in my first ever school pageant when I was in high school and was entitled first runner up. It was a stepping stone for me to pursue more about pageantry.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I desire to be the next Miss Philippines Earth 2021 because I would like to integrate my environmental advocacy to the programs of community and encouraging my fellow millennial to engage in this activity. I believe we can help in our own little ways by practicing the proper conservation and ways to protect the good quality of our water bodies. And today’s constant changes in environment molds me to be a good citizen to promote ecological protection through preserving and restoring the beauty of every province. With this initiative plus environmental-care actions, I know we can make a difference that can be applied in the whole country.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
I am highlighting to promote the existing environmental protection of Mabini Protected Landscape and Seascape through the ecological solid waste and management. Looking back at my hometown, Tagnanan, Mabini is considered rich in environment, resources and biodiversity that’s why it has been proclaimed as one of the protected areas pursuant to RA 7586 or the NIPAS act of 1992. It has been entitled as Mabini Protected Landscape and Seascape in which up until now, the preservation and conservation is still present. This act will be beneficial to the community because it will serve as a natural habitat of endemic, endangered and threatened species that will sustain the ecosystem balance. Also, it can be a good source of food, water, livelihood and other ecosystem services. And serves as a safeguard against disasters and climate change.
