Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
Growing up as a child, I was always the little mysterious pretty girl in the corner. I was extremely shy and reserved. I am usually not the first to approach or initiate a conversation, but once they get to know me, they say I am surprisingly bubbly and easy going. I have always been interested in art and the art of performing, both my mom and dad introduced me to both which is why today my interests are still in line with art making and performing in front of people.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I learned how to truly grow and change for the better from my mistakes. As I grow older, I become a better version of myself. Change may be constant, but I take it as a chance to become better and mature. I know that mistakes are inevitable which is why I openly acknowledge my mistakes and turn them into a driving force for change.
Most memorable moment:
The most memorable moment that I had happened a year ago. It was my first time performing on stage without my mom watching me. When I was announced winner, my tears were on the verge of bursting but I managed to hold them back and I kept positively in mind that she’s with me all throughout that journey.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I want to become Miss Earth Philippines because I want to start an impact on making smart choices for the environment. As much as I want to grow, I want the world to grow with me. With this platform I can share my story and inspire people to care for the Earth. I want to be able to engage everyone to make a huge difference for the environment through simple ways everyday in their lives. To be able to join here is a huge opportunity for me to have a bigger reach for my advocacy.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
Art for a Cause: An impactful way to protect biodiversity and promote sustainability
My advocacy explores the nature of art, and uses it as a tool to bring light to the world. This extends support to the environment wherein art is the way to protect biodiversity and promote sustainability through different artistic means and practices.
What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
It all starts in us. As individuals we have to know our responsibility and make an effort in practicing simple ways of helping the earth. Instead of riding cars or motorcycles for some errands, why not walk? Instead of buying mass-produced products, why not purchase from local store owners? Practice supporting non-profit businesses and sustainable materials. Making it a habit to do these little things can make a huge difference for the Earth.
