Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I am the youngest of three girls. We had a lot of fun playing, we watched cartoons and drew our favorite characters together. My eldest sister is the smartest of us all and is now a doctor, and my second eldest sister is an artist, she started drawing from a very young age, consistently won competitions, and now working for a Singapore-based Company. One might assume that those sound like a lot of expectations on me, but my parents never pressured me. They allowed me to grow and bloom on my own pace. Out of their three daughters, I was the happy-go-lucky child. While my sisters were pressuring themselves to maintain their academic and extracurricular activities, I was busy cutting my own bangs. During my early childhood, I was a normal student, I preferred spending my time on playing dress up with my mom’s makeup and my sister’s gowns and heels. My tiny feet could barely fit her shoes but I still felt like a star.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
Growing up, I learned the valuable lesson from my parents that comparing myself to others is useless and that everyone has their own pace. This helped me to focus on my own path, and in high school, I finally began receiving recognition for my achievements in both academics and extracurricular activities. Since then, I have maintained a self-imposed standard of excellence, which has resulted in consistent academic success. Now at my fourth year studying Dentistry, I am consistently included as a Dean’s Lister while also managing as a student leader at the same time. I now understand that success is not about competing with others, but rather about striving to be the best version of myself.

Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment so far, is joining Miss Philippines-Earth Zamboanga. I remember the day my handler reached out to me, I was hesitant at first because of the fear of failure but my mother encouraged me to join. My mom knows me more than I know myself, she knew that I was ready for it and that no opportunity that big should be ignored. I remember when my mom said that she really wanted to see me on stage, I wanted to make her wish come true so I decided to join the pageant. Little did I know that every time I stepped on the stage, I’d feel relaxed and at home. My mom was right. During the competition, I felt I was finally living my childhood dream. After winning Miss Philippines Air Zamboanga 2022, I was surprised with the many opportunities that came my way, I was overwhelmed with all the blessings. Above all, I thank God for the life changing experience.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I want to continue my advocacy “Own Less, Do More”. I strongly believe that my advocacy is a simple practice that everyone can apply in their lives. Miss Philippines Earth can guide and support me with the necessary tools that I need in order to promote my advocacy. I am looking forward to express my ideas in significant events and to work with individuals who have the same vision as I do. I am eager to meet people from different walks of life because their personal inputs hold so much power. This opportunity has the potential to facilitate my personal growth and development, allowing me to become a better advocate.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My advocacy, 'Own Less, Do More,' encourages people to live sustainably by reducing their consumption of material possessions. I firmly believe that minimalism is a practical and attainable way of life that can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and help us live more meaningful lives. By owning less, we not only reduce stress on ourselves but also protect the environment. Through my participation in this pageant, I hope to inspire others to embrace minimalism and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle for a better future.

What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
Social media platforms are the simplest way to promote eco-tourism, it can also be used to inform and educate the people. Through social media, we can encourage visitors to select eco-friendly tours, which help with conservation efforts and lessen the environmental effect of travelling. When it comes to eco-tourism in Dipolog City, there are several natural attractions to explore such as; Dipolog Sunset Boulevard, Linabo Peak, Cogon Eco-Park, and more. There are options for hiking, trekking, bird viewing, camping, picnics, and other outdoor activities for guests to enjoy.
