Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I vividly remember always getting excited to go to school when I was younger, because I enjoyed listening
in class and meeting my schoolmates. Aside from actively participating in school activities, I was one
busy body wrapped up in schoolworks because I enjoyed my time in school especially with the friends I
made along the way. Learning was way more fun back in my childhood and I’m privileged to have been
given that type of education.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I have learned to enjoy the experiences I had along the way and to cherish little moments that would make great
significance in the future. One thing I have brought from my childhood is to smile to at least one or two strangers
every day, because your smile might make someone’s day. And I have actually upgraded that and added making
at least one or two friends everytime I am in a new place and I have been doing that ever since.
Most memorable moment:
The first thing that comes to mind is the moment I realized I had to either be bald or have my hair cut very short
due to extreme hair damage. I vividly remember taking a shower and as I was rinsing the shampoo off my head, I
felt strands of my hair flow with the water and clog the drain. All I could do was cry and think to myself, “should I
shave my head?” I decided to have it short but I guess that unfortunate incident was a blessing in disguise
because I have actually grown to love my short hair and I’ve been maintaining it for more than a year now.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I would like to be Miss Philippines Earth 2022 because I want to be the representation— the face, body and
the voice of this platform to address environmental issues as well as help in promoting eco-tourism. It
would also be a great opportunity for me to help the causes I am for which is environmental protection
and conservation and the other causes of the organization.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
I am an advocate of environmental protection and conservation particularly through recycling plastic
materials and repurposing them to make life-saving equipment such as life jackets and the like. With the
amount of plastic waste still continuing to rise, we came up with an idea to help reduce it. With the help of
my colleagues back in 2018, we were able to make a prototype of our revolutionary product called Salva
Vida’s Life Tracker Vest— a life jacket made of recycled plastic bottles equipped with a GPS tracking
device for accurate location detection. With this product we could not only help save the environment, but
we could also save lives. My goal is to reach the right people so we would be able to produce this for the
masses and send out the message that we could do multiple things at the same time if given the right
motivation and resources.
What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
A tip I can share is to immerse yourself with your surroundings and imagine how sad it would be to have it lose its
beauty due to our disregard to take good care of it. It would always start with the people, we are the ones that are
responsible and at the end of the day we will be the one inviting and enticing tourists to come over our particular
places and the tourists, as people will be the one sharing their experience to the rest of the world.
