Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I vividly remember going to different medical missions as a kid with my mom. We would go to different parts of the country and give food and medicine to those in need. I remember helping the pharmacists to sort out medicine to be given to attendees.

I also remember visiting the zoo a lot. I volunteered in Avilon Zoo as a kid. Growing up I was already fond of animals – they were always very dear to my heart and in some ways I would feel connected to them.

My mom used to manage a travel agency, that’s why we also traveled a lot when I was little. She would bring me to countries like Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. Watching her while I was growing up, I developed my love for travelling and taking photos of different sceneries. I was a shy kid, but whenever I was in nature, I would always appreciate its beauty.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
Good manners were instilled in me at a very young age. I was taught to say ‘po’ and ‘opo’ to those who are older than me. I’ve always been taught to respect everyone around me no matter what. Growing up I’ve learned to see everyone equally and never look down on anyone no matter the occupation or status in life. In a world where you can be anything, it’s always good to be kind. And I say that now more than ever – the world needs it.

I was also taught to always say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ everytime – and I do feel that conditioned myself to always be grateful for all the things and opportunities being given to me.

Most memorable moment:
I appreciate the little things that spark joy in my life. There’s not a specific memory, but I do have a lot of memorable moments in life. So that would include me being on stage with my dance teammates performing our hearts out. I enjoy the simple joys such as listening to my favorite music with my friends and just vibing to it.

Travelling to different places – immersing in different cultures that truly makes my heart flutter.

Being with my loved ones and enjoying their company – after my dad passed away I’ve learned to truly treasure the people dear to my heart and cherish them while we’re still on this Earth.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I wanna be Miss Philippines Earth 2022 because I’d like to use this platform to spread my advocacy. I’m very passionate about animal welfare and saving our Mother Earth. This is our home and as citizens of this Earth, we must do our part to protect it at all costs before it’s too late.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
I want to promote renewable energy, because it plays such a big part in easing climate change. We must take a stand on limiting greenhouse emissions and fossil fuel usage as it heavily contributes to global warming.

Animals play a big part in our ecological system, and the climate crisis is affecting the cycle of life. We may not be aware of this, but climate change is making a ripple through the ecosystem. And so in line with this I want to promote animal welfare and saving endangered species. No animal should be neglected, abandoned or abused. I want to promote spaying and neutering to stray animals to reduce overpopulation. With this we can stray away from euthanizing stray animals. And to help the endangered species, we have to make our country wildlife friendly.

What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
I’d like to promote zero waste management in my city and to local authorities, as garbage is one of the top concerns of nature and in our country. The 3 R's play a very big part on this – reduce, reuse, and recycle. With this we can reduce the need for landfills and incinerators.
