Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I used to be the type of child that was so shy and had a hard time making friends when I was younger. Despite my shyness, I was often picked as a muse at school; nevertheless, I never had the opportunity to participate in a school pageant before. Because every time a pageant or modeling opportunity comes my way, something unexpected occurs, causing the event to be cancelled. Unexpected events such as a super typhoon coming on the day of the school pageant causing it to be cancelled. The worst experience I had in high school was when my classmates elected me to represent our class in a school pageant, and when our adviser found out, she doubted my ability to do so. She stated things like, "How can she (me) represent our class if she can't even speak loudly inside our classroom, much less in front of the entire campus?" It was quite painful for me since I felt humiliated and judged in front of the entire class.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
As a result of those experiences, I've learnt that I shouldn't be afraid to express myself, and that it's time for me to step up and do what I want. I've also realized that my shyness could be a hindrance in any aspect I would take. And I've realized that though I can't please everyone, I can still succeed if I know who I am and what I'm capable of.

Most memorable moment:
One of the most memorable moments I've experienced was when I was 5 years old, I had a bike accident with my father. It's 6am in the morning. I was riding a bike with him and we were supposed to go to a bakery when suddenly a dog appeared. Since I was so afraid of dogs back then, I panicked and we got out of balance. I hurt my right foot and thought I was bitten by the dog but in reality my foot got stuck in between the chains of the bike. Because of that incident I wasn't able to walk for months and was afraid of riding a bike for years.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2021 because I want to share my passion in leadership to a bigger platform and more relevant actions. I aspire to play a significant role in influencing and educating our people to take more measures in sustaining the place we live in.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
Sustainable Tourism. As someone who enjoys traveling, I am saddened to see that certain tourist destinations are losing their charm and attracting fewer visitors as a result of excessive use. And as a result of this circumstance, the locals' income and livelihood gradually declines. That is why it is critical to have sustainable tourism that takes into economic, social, and environmental challenges, as well as improving tourist experiences and meeting community needs.

What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, my municipality and province, has a lot to offer: beaches, mountains, rivers, and even culture. However, it is still underappreciated and needs more development and public attention. And it should begin with its locals, who should embrace and nurture our natural environment as a potential sustained tourism destination.
