Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
Growing up, I’d say I had a fulfilling time. At this tender age, I am confident that my parents gave me all the things, knowledge, and education that I needed. It is through their efforts that I excelled in classes and various forms of competitions even in my young age. During this age, I also lived with my grandparents on my father’s side. It is sentimental for me to remember how much they took care of me as I was their (self- proclaimed) favourite apo. They also made sure that they gave me things that I wanted, and my lola cooked for me the most wonderful meals. Of course, not everything is blissful. Like any other family, there would be occasional fights and misunderstandings. But now, I am happy that we have moved on from those trials and we are living the life we best deserve.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I learned a lot of lessons during my childhood years. First, is acknowledging the responsibility of being the eldest child. It taught me how I should not only be responsible for myself, but for my family as well. Another, is that no matter what happens, your family will always have your back. Lastly, the lesson that I learned that I still apply up until today is that in whatever you do in life, you should always give your best so that you will have no regrets in the future.

Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment growing up and while studying is that whenever I win local and regional competitions, I get to travel across the Philippines for free as I represent my locality. It is memorable to me because not only do I get to see places that I have never been to before, but it makes me proud that I am able to bring the name of my place to a wider stage.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth because I am passionate with the causes I stand for. I hope to inspire and influence young girls in the Philippines to stand and be brave for what they believe in. Moreover, I want to inculcate to the youth the value of protection for the environment, because as a nation, our access to Mother Earth is what we all have in common.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is rooted on advocating the usage of pineapple fibers and other natural fibers for sustainable textile industry and to avoid the rapid phenomenon of fast fashion. I wanted to use natural fibers since our country is home to many resources like these and pineapples are the trademark of the place I represent, which is Polomolok. This is suitable for a sustainable textile industry as fabrics that will be made are natural and earth-friendly. Moreover, I would also like this idea to be the solution for the growing phenomena of fast fashion. Instead of using cheap and harmful products to produce volumes of clothing, we can instead opt for cheap yet quality products made from our natural resources.

What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
I will encourage various talented designers in our community to use our production of pineapples to its advantage so that we are able to create trendy fashion and encourage more people in our municipality.
