Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I had a very fun and exciting childhood. I was a friendly child and I never had a hard time making friends even when I’m just new to a place, may it be a new school or a new neighborhood. My parents have given my siblings and I a very happy and peaceful childhood. They taught us how to be kind and generous to the people around us.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
From elementary to high school I was always bestfriends with my gay classmates and I’m very happy that I have been exposed to that kind of environment because I learned very early in life how to be accepting and supportive of members of the lgbtqia+ community. I am incredibly thankful that I was not discouraged by the adults around me to not befriend people because of their sexuality and most importantly I am glad that they did not teach me to discriminate them.

Early in my childhood my parents have taught my siblings and I to always be willing to share what we have especially to those in need. Our school have also always encouraged us to participate in volunteer work. Ever since I was a kid I’ve always been involved in volunteering and doing charitable works. I used to teach street children Mathematics and English in a foundation beside my school. Up until now I still dabble in volunteering as I am now a certified Philippine Red Cross Volunteer and First Aider. I was also a volunteer in the De La Salle University Bayanihan Challenge for the Yolanda Victims. I am grateful for the lessons I have received when I was young for I know that I will always bring my parents’ and school’s teachings with me and because of that I will also encourage other people to also participate in volunteering and getting involved in charitable works.

Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment was when it was announced in school that I was a Constant in Attendance Award and all of my batchmates clapped and cheered on me because they couldn’t believe it and they were incredibly proud of me. Honestly, I couldn't even believe that I did it. I know that it wasn’t exactly an academic award but I am incredibly proud of that moment because almost everyone in my batch didn’t believe that I could do it. I think I was even prouder of that moment than when I received the Best in Mathematics award. When I was in high school I was always late to school and when we got to our 4th year I made it a goal to never be late and receive the Constant in Attendance Award and I did it. I was not the valedictorian and yet I was the most cheered person in my batch during the announcement of the awardees of that year because they were so proud of me. It’s proof that whatever you put your mind to you can do it and you should always believe in yourself.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2022 because I want to be a good example not just to my town but to my whole country in taking care of mother earth by promoting eco-tourism and uplifting wildlife conservation especially the protection of exotic animals and endangered species. I also want to teach people about responsible tourism and sustainable traveling. We can still promote tourism without damaging the environment and without disturbing animals in their natural habitats. I want to become the beacon of hope of exotic animals and endangered species by encouraging everyone to protect wildlife habitats and our natural resources.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
I am a wildlife conservation advocate and one of my main concerns is the protection of exotic animals and endangered species. The earth is in the midst of its sixth animal extinction and its current mass extinction is caused almost entirely by humans. We have been endangering wildlife by disrupting their ecosystems and one of the main causes is irresponsible traveling. We should learn how to travel without damaging wildlife habitats and without polluting the environment. I want to guide people by teaching them how to practice responsible tourism and sustainable traveling. We should respect and protect the animal’s natural habitats, especially the endangered ones for it is their refuge and home. We should all make a move to prevent their extinction. All together, we should act in order to conserve the endangered species and their ecosystems so we can show the future generations why we’re proud to call Earth our home.

What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
I will promote eco-tourism by practicing wildlife conservation, responsible tourism and sustainable traveling. Our town is famous for our natural tourist destinations like our Malaog cave and underground river. I will encourage everyone in providing an enriching tourism experience while preventing degradation of the destinations. We can share the wonderful experience with others without disturbing the animal’s natural habitats and without damaging the environment. We already banned the use of plastics in our town and I want to help create new environmental changes in Sampaloc so we can take another big step towards a cleaner and greener future of our town.
