Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I grew up in a Catholic Household. I spent my elementary and high school days being educated in a school run by Nuns and in an environment with Priests since my mom works in a seminary.
I also grew up around farms, there’s a lot here in Silang, Cavite. I remember my grandparents harvesting coffee beans, bananas and different vegetables and fruits and then selling them in the local market. I help them on weekends when I don’t have classes. My parents are also advocates for Animal Welfare, and at an early age, I and my siblings also learned the importance of animals in our ecosystem.
I lived a simple and happy life with my family.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
One of the many lessons I learned growing up is the value of life. Not only of human life but also of those who we share this Earth with. Every life matters, we live together because we have a specific mission to fulfill not only for ourselves but also for everyone around us. That is why we should also be mindful of everything and everyone. We shouldn’t do things that will hurt others.
Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment is when we rescued my cat, Otap, in a construction site. When we got him, he had a terrible rib injury and we all thought he was going to die. But with proper love and care he was able to survive. We adopted him and my life and principles changed a lot because of this.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
The Miss Philippines Earth title is a big responsibility but along with it is the privilege to help not only other people but also our environment in a larger and impactful scale. I believe that it is our duty to make this Earth a better place to live in for the future generation and with the Miss Philippines Earth crown, I will be able to influence others to take part in saving and taking care of Mother Earth.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My Advocacy is Animal Welfare and Humane Treatment. I grew up loving animals and I strongly advocate that they hold a huge part in maintaining balance in our ecosystem that is why we should also prioritize their rights. Animal welfare is affected by the relationships human beings have with animals and it is our duty to ensure all animals are treated humanely, responsibly, and with respect.
What tip can you share to promote eco-tourism in your City or Municipality?
Silang, Cavite is known for its farms and plantation industry because of this many locals were able to open businesses such as Cafes, Restaurants and even Home Plant Businesses. This is a very big reason to visit Silang. To be able to promote this and to entice tourists to visit our Municipality, I will continue to promote it on Social Media pages and with the help of my organization, JCI Silang Cattleya we will host activities related to ecotourism that will encourage both tourists and locals to participate.
