SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija: Chanel Olive Thomas

Describe your childhood/growing years (8-13 years old)
I had a very active childhood. I was always outside playing with friends and my twin brother. We would ride our bikes everywhere. I was also taking Ballet, Jazz and Tap dance classes as well as that I was playing Tennis and Basketball. I would describe myself as being a tomboy during my younger years. I would spend every weekend with my two brothers and our cousins either at their house or going to the beach or creeks to swim. My childhood really molded me into the person that I am today and I wouldn’t change anything.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
To always show respect and kindness to everyone that I meet.

Most memorable moment
My most memorable moment so far is being blessed with several magazine covers within the past year.

What is the most unusual thing you've ever done?
I filmed a video for Bench Blog about being Single for Valentine’s Day this year.

What is your ambition in life?
To win Miss Philippines Earth and use my crown to create change and awareness within our environment, to be a positive role model to young girls and inspire them to be the best person that they can be, to be a successful television presenter/host.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth?
It has always been my dream to be Miss Philippines Earth. Not only for the crown but because of what Miss Philippines Earth stands for. I want to be able to preserve our environment and also create change where needed. I want to promote and teach awareness to the public about the environment and be a positive influencer.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is to reduce pollution within our country and the world. By doing this, we will be able to produce more clean air which is both good for the environment and humanity. I chose this because I am truly against the amount of unnecessary pollution, which is being created within our country and world. It is damaging to both the environment and to humans. I want the future generation to be able to grow up in a less polluted world.
