Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
My childhood is one of the happiest periods in my life. I grew up in a community where life is just so simple and our primary source of income is either through fishing or farming. I am fortunate that I grew up with a supportive and loving family and that despite of struggles that we encounter, we always got each other’s back. They never fail to motivate and inspire me and I am thankful to God for that. However, life is not perfect. I used to be an insecure girl because of my skin complexion. Other kids would tease me and no matter how strong I feel, I can't deny the fact that at some point it really affected me. But I always make sure that it won't negatively affect my entire life and I always focus on the positive side in every situation that I may encounter.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I have realized that you should not live fully your life in accordance to what society tells you to do nor the other people's expectations. I have learned not to be afraid to do something as long as I know that it is morally upright and just. And if people will criticize you, use it as a motivation to improve yourself and be kinder. And no matter how hard life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. Also, when something is important enough, do not be afraid to do it even if the odds are not in your favor.
Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment is when I pass the board exam for Psychometrician. All the sleepless nights and struggles were all worth it.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2018?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth because I want to make a positive impact to our Mother Earth and to people by being a global advocate to environmental and social responsibility. I want to help in increasing the level of awareness about current environmental issues and what we can do about it. Also, I am eager and ready to take the challenge and duty in protecting our Mother Earth as well as to carry forward the mission of Miss Philippines Earth.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is “Start greening the planet, by greening your own home” because I believe that everything starts at home. And if we will practice greening our own home, then we can also make our planet a greener, safer, and better place to live in.
