Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
My childhood growing up wasn’t really as memorable as the other people who might be joining here. Being someone who cared about chess and studies and books, given when puberty still haven’t hit me that time, the kids in my school back then used to bully me a lot. They’d get mad if I don’t give them my lunch money or if I don’t give them answers in tests, it was pretty hard because they hurt me physically. But I was always scared of them so I kept it all inside, didn’t tell my parents about it till I was old enough, and I must say, during those hard times it made me closer to God.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
It always gets better. Even when it seems like it’s hopeless, it’s still going to get better. Having been depressed in my teen years, I reminded myself that ending it all would just eliminate the chances of my life getting better. And I got closer to God, reminded myself that I have to be alive to witness the plans he Has for me.
Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment besides being a kid in kindergarten falling asleep on the sofa and magically waking up in my own room, has got to be when I became the courtside reporter in my school. Because I went out of my way for it, I went out of my comfort zone and tried something that I’ve never done before. And that makes it very memorable. I seized the moment.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2018?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2018 because I know that I could use my voice and my skills and everything that I do as a tool to change what’s bad in the environment. I feel that this could be a great platform for me not only to showcase my potentials but also to magnify my advocacy and change our ways with Mother Earth for the good #OneStefAtATime
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is having the people be aware of the depletion of our natural resources. I chose this because this is one of the alarming issues that we have here not just in our country but also in the whole world. We often take our Mother Earth for granted that we just tend to always get from Her and we never really fully realize that it takes years, sometimes a lifetime, for our Mother Earth to recover from all the natural resources that we take. I believe that we should change that.
