Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I can say I had a very interesting childhood. I am the unica hija and the middle child among three siblings. I grew up in a farm and was exposed to community service all my life because of my father’s line of work. I have battled through being very self-insecure and finally learning how to love and accept my self after realizing that being loved and admired by all is not really necessary as long as you have a few real people who can genuinely stand up for you through thick and thin.

What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
Never be scared of being unique because nobody has ever made a difference by becoming like everybody else. Accept each other’s uniqueness and embrace diversity.

Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment to date is Christmas Day of 2017. My mother finally reunited with her siblings after five years of disagreement. We spent the holiday together as a family and the memory of it still makes me smile today. Love for family really transcends everything.

Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2018?
I want to be the next Miss Philippines Earth because I know I can do something in battling environmental issues and I am fit to be an ambassadress for environmental conservation and reparation. To be miss earth means having a bigger voice to be heard by more people and become an inspiration of positivity to them and i want to be her because I know that I can.

What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
As a medical practitioner, physical well-being and the prevention of premature death and diseases are one of my primary concerns. Thus, my advocacy is environmental health. It is the protection of the environment while taking care of your own health. This means that my advocacy will be centered on the main physiological needs for human survival which are air quality protection and improvement, water conservation, and food safety and security. The main project I want to implement is Organic Farming through the Aquaponics System. This is a modern farming type that combines the technology of aquaculture and hydroponics. Some of the advantages of this technology is that it will benefit areas that has no access to fertile soil, has vast farm lands and areas experiencing food shortages. Water usage will also be cut-down by 95% compared to traditional farming and the underground water and air quality will be protected since the technology does not make use of artificial fertilizers or chemical aerosols that are detrimental to the environment. I chose this advocacy because it is sustainable, realistic and relevant to address the current problems that we many of us are facing today.
