Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I came from an average type of family. Out of eight siblings, I am the only girl so I grew up as a boyish type of girl. My family grew different crops like calamansi, bananas, mangoes and lanzones. During my free time, I used to help my mother sell our products in the market. As I grew up, my brothers taught me to be brave in the face of any situation. They also taught me how to be grateful for what we have.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
My growing years taught me to be optimistic. As a child, I always knew that becoming an adult would give me the freedom to do what I want, to go for anything I want and to chase my dreams.
Most memorable moment:
October 24, 2018 was the most memorable day of my life. It was the day my mother had an aneurysm. It was really heartbreaking to see my mother suffer. I used to care for her at the hospital every day and I could not help but pray constantly. Although it was a tough experience for my family, I am very grateful to God because my mother eventually recovered and is now well.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2019?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2019 because I want to push my advocacy against consumer population land sites and trash in the oceans, especially the plastics that don’t easily break down. I also want to educate and influence other people and become the voice of hope.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My advocacy is to stop consumer population land sites and trash on the oceans, especially the plastics that don’t easily break down. Although my advocacy seems common, it remains to be one of the unresolved problems of our environment.
