Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
Growing up just a year younger than my sister was fun. We grew and learned a lot of things together. I have always been competitive in school because I loved learning, winning, and making my parents proud. Our parents made sure that we were provided with what we needed to continue learning. They made sure that we experienced the pleasures of life, including the chance to play outside with our friends and learn on our own terms. Plus, they made sure that we mature, having respect for everybody, despite any differences and status, and knowing that Jesus is our Lord and personal savior. My relationship with my Creator is the highlight of my growing up years, even until this very day.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
I have learned to be a giver and enjoy it. That being capable of sharing anything I have, even my time, with people is already a blessing. That being an avenue of God’s blessings for others is fulfilling. I have learned to play my part in taking care of our home, our planet. That everyone needs to take part in being good stewards of this home that God has blessed us with. That despite differences and hindrances, I matter, my thoughts matter, and I should always value them and make sure that they are heard. I have learned to love life and live it to the fullest while sharing it with people who matter.
Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment would be when I graduated from college. I was overwhelmingly grateful to have finished my studies with different scholarships that I had to stitch together to finish my four years, and to have a family that has always been so supportive and loving. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to spend my life giving my parents and siblings the life they deserve. Furthermore, it was the beginning of a fantastic chapter in my life where I could do more to better myself and be of value to the community and the world we live in.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2019?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2020 because I know that this will be an excellent platform for my voice to be heard. We are moving closer to a slowly dying Earth, and as a steward of God, it is my pleasure to take part in saving it and making sure that it is well taken care of. I will use it as an avenue to instill in the minds and hearts of many the importance of being responsible caretakers of our planet, our home.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environmental advocacy is Sustainable Animal Agriculture. Earth is composed of different organisms; every life plays an essential role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. I want to give more focus on the essence of sustainable animal agriculture because animal production plays a massive part in human civilization. Unfortunately, there are a lot of irresponsible human practices in this industry. I chose this advocacy because I want to be the voice of these animals that can’t complain about it and pave the way for the improvement of how they’re being farmed.
