Describe your childhood/growing up years (8-13 years old):
I had a wonderful childhood in a rural community. I experienced playing outdoors with the neighborhood kids around my age, I got messy and had bruises a lot of times, I stumbled on farm lots, I threw stones up on the trees to get fresh fruits, and most of the time my nails got soiled. Being raised by my grandmother allowed me to treasure unforgettable experiences like these. Whenever I go down the memory lane, I always feel the bliss of my tender age and how lucky I was to enjoy the richness and abundance of our natural resources that surround me.
What lessons did you learn from your childhood/growing years?
The main lesson I learned growing up was BE CONTENT WITH LITTLE. My parents provided me with a good social life with many good life experiences, friends, and a solid place in our community. They didn't spoil me with everything I wanted but they always provided what I needed and fairly those little things I wished for. There were some things we wished we could have, but our parents would tell us we could not afford it and we had to listen and obey, and that's how we learned to be content. Instilling the value of contentment is essential for someone to know how to be happy with the little things that they have; to focus on the things that they are already blessed with and not to focus on what others have.
Most memorable moment:
My most memorable moment was when I graduated with Latin Honors because it made my parents proud and it also opened a lot of uncertain, yet purposeful opportunities in my life.
Why do you want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2019?
I want to be Miss Philippines Earth 2020 because I want to spread greater awareness in protecting and preserving our natural resources, especially in our hometown, Lal-lo.
What is your environmental advocacy and why did you choose this?
My environment advocacy is to spread greater awareness in protecting the Cagayan River to maximize its multiple uses, as well as the preservation and protection of endemic marine biodiversity found in the area of Lal-lo.
